About Richard Bamsey
I was good at colouring in at school which was more than enough to pursue a life in art. My only goal at school was to get to Art College, i made it, my interview was two weeks before the start of term, with no plan B. I spent my working life as a technical illustrator and a graphic designer. Starting on a drawing board and ending up on a computer during which time I continued with my art.
Recently I have been working extensively on lino prints, i enjoy the physicality and the unpredictable nature of the media.
I'm very much an artist rather than a print maker, my editions are small never more than 20 sometimes only five.
All prints are hand printed without a press.
Prints are signed and numbered.
With the exception of hand coloured prints each of which are unique and mostly created to order.
